No, it is not true that ultrasound weapons do not cause long-lasting damage; high-intensity exposure can result in permanent internal hearing damage, permanent deafness, and severe neurological or physiological disturbances.

Legal and Ethical Concerns: The potential for permanent deafness has raised questions under international humanitarian law regarding "superfluous injury or unnecessary suffering." Although therapeutic ultrasound is generally safe when administered correctly, weaponized acoustic devices are designed to deliver much higher intensities, leading to the potential for lasting and severe physical harm.
