Two twins in the painting - the Gemini with his Twin hands (third one who is Andrew) and Thomas who is pointing up (the eighth character)  3 x 8 = 24 or 8+8+8. Didymus is in the Gospel of John 3 times and Thomas is in the Gospel of John 8 times. Didymus and Thomas both mean twin. Thomas stuck his finger into the side of Jesus, where the spear of destiny was plunged into the side of Christ. 

What about Simon Peter? He is the 4th character with the knife, he is a Cancer sign, which is a 69, or 6 x 9 = 54. From July 31 (My Mom's birthday) to September 23rd (signs in the Sky) is 54 days.  He was restored by Jesus in John 21 with the 153 fish,  the Vesica Piscis and sign of Jonah eclipse. There is 153 days after July 31st. Simon Peter was given the keys to the church, he is the bridge (Roman Arch) between the ministry to the Jews and the Gentiles. He is the Bishop of Antioch, they are first called Christians in Antioch. 

Remember, it is a Roman's faith that makes Jesus marvel, it is a Roman who puts the sign up in the Gospel of John and defies the Pharisees when they tell him to take it down or he will be an enemy of Caesar, and it is a Roman who pierced the side of Christ.
