The East German secret police, known as the Stasi, had one of the most extensive and effective intelligence networks to have ever existed. By 1989, it was estimated there were at least 189000 informants in every sphere of East German society, and files on millions of citizens. By the late 1970s, the Stasi had moved from overt persecution to a program of psychological harassment known as Zersetzung. The goal was the "fragmentation, paralysis, disorganization, and isolation of the hostile and negative forces, in order to preventatively impede the hostile and negative activities" of political opponents.
The writer Jürgen Fuchs was targeted with Zersetzung methods. He described them as an 'assault on the human soul'. He died of a rare form of leukemia which he believed was caused by the Stasi's use of weaponised X-ray devices on him.

Recruiting... the State Working With Famous People and Influencers to Criminals - This Means Criminals at All Levels, Petty to Major, Including the Mob and the Drug Cartels, Plus Drug Addicts to Homeless People
I have written previously about the Stasi and Homeland Security. You see how this could become like "Leviathan." At one time 2 out of 6 people in East Germany were spies.
Some illuminating material:
1.) Recruits often came from Stasi families. It was generational, so the children would follow in the parents footsteps because they knew how the system worked. From an early age, the children were taught to be liars, snitches, and to spy on their spouses, family and friends. The Stasi would routinely get fathers, mothers, sons, husbands and wives to turn on each other. Think of this in the same way as what Monica Lewinsky said: "I grew up lying, in my family we always lie" this applies to the children of spy families.
2.) Recruits rarely came from those who applied to work with the Stasi. Rather, the Stasi often recruited from those they had under surveillance. In other words, many were informants and criminals. In fact, the Stasi would frequently give criminals a job to work with them instead of serving time. Why did they do this? More than likely it's because many of these people have a high level of psychopathy, but it is also because it is cheaper and they can use the skills of some psychopaths. You have to understand that when a government is being overrun by psychopaths, it will look for them to join their group and enforce their rule on the general public. Doesn't this sound like the CIA?
The Stasi never allowed the citizens to know the country was being overrun by criminals, the public image was that it was always getting "their man." The Stasi called themselves proud "Chekists", once again, emphasizing the connections to Bolshevism and the Cheka.
It absolutely must be mentioned that Jews played a leading role in the development of Bolshevism and the Cheka. They have also played a major role in the development of the new Homeland Security laws. (Did you know the Soviet Union was the second country to recognize Israel? (The USA was the first.) Essentially, thoughts and emotions over time create neural associations... which in turn, affect personality. Imagine the power of isolating people and pumping thoughts and emotions into their head, especially if they don't know someone is doing it to them.
